Terms and Conditions

To use TutorLink, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. Users between 13 and 18 years of age must have the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
• Parents or guardians who register on behalf of a minor assume full responsibility for the minor's use of the Platform and compliance with these Terms.
• Teachers must be at least 18 years of age and must provide accurate professional credentials during the onboarding process.
• By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements stated herein.

When you create an account, you must provide information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account.

• Teachers: Must complete the onboarding process, provide verified credentials, maintain active and accurate profiles, set realistic availability schedules, and uphold professional standards during all interactions.
• Students: Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials (password). You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
• Account Security: You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account. TutorLink is not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized use of your account.
• One Account Policy: Each user may maintain only one active account on the Platform. Creating multiple accounts may result in suspension.

TutorLink provides the following educational services:

• One-on-One Sessions: Students can browse teacher profiles, view availability, and book individual tutoring sessions at the teacher's listed hourly rate.
• Batch Classes: Teachers can create group learning batches for specific subjects. Students can join open batches and attend scheduled group sessions via meeting links.
• Real-Time Chat: Students and teachers can communicate directly through the in-app messaging system powered by CometChat.
• AI Assistant: An AI-powered learning companion that provides tutor recommendations, resource suggestions, and profile enhancements using Google Gemini AI.
• Teacher Resources: Teachers can upload and share educational resources (documents, links) with their students.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time, with or without prior notice.

TutorLink offers subscription-based access for students. All payments are processed securely through Razorpay.

• Subscription Plans: Students may choose from Monthly (₹2,250), Quarterly (₹7,125), or Yearly (₹27,000) plans. Prices include applicable early bird or multi-month discounts and are subject to change with prior notice.
• Billing: Subscriptions are billed at the start of each billing cycle. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the selected payment method automatically.
• Teacher Rates: Teachers set their own hourly rates for one-on-one sessions. The displayed rate is locked at the time of booking.
• Currency: All prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR). Tax obligations, if any, are the responsibility of the user.
• Refunds: Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy.

• Booking Confirmation: All session bookings are confirmed only after payment is successfully processed. Both the student and teacher receive confirmation notifications.
• Cancellation by Student: Students may cancel a one-on-one session through their "My Sessions" page. Cancellations made 24 or more hours before the session start time are eligible for a full credit. Late cancellations may forfeit the session fee.
• Cancellation by Teacher: Teachers may cancel sessions, but frequent cancellations may result in profile deprioritization or account review.
• No-Show: If a teacher fails to attend a scheduled session without prior notice, the student receives a full refund or free reschedule. If a student fails to attend, the session fee is not refunded.
• Batch Sessions: Batch meeting schedules are managed by the teacher. Students enrolled in a batch are expected to attend as per the communicated schedule.

Our Platform utilizes generative AI technology (Google Gemini via Genkit) to assist with tutor recommendations, bio enhancements, and learning resource suggestions.

• AI-generated content is provided for informational and assistive purposes only and should not be treated as professional educational advice.
• TutorLink does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated content. Users should independently verify critical information.
• AI recommendations are based on the data you provide (such as learning goals and preferences). The quality of recommendations depends on the accuracy and completeness of your profile.
• We continuously work to improve AI output quality but disclaim all liability for decisions made based solely on AI-generated suggestions.

• All Platform content, including but not limited to the website design, logos, graphics, software code, and documentation, is the intellectual property of TutorLink and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
• Teacher Content: Teachers retain ownership of the educational resources and materials they upload to the Platform. By uploading content, teachers grant TutorLink a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute the content to enrolled students on the Platform.
• User-Generated Content: Any content you submit (profiles, reviews, messages) must not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any Platform content without prior written permission from TutorLink.

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities while using the Platform:

• Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Impersonating another person, misrepresenting your identity or qualifications, or using false credentials.
• Harassing, threatening, bullying, or using abusive language toward other users, including in chat messages.
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts, Platform systems, or connected third-party services.
• Sharing, distributing, or uploading content that is obscene, offensive, discriminatory, or contains malware.
• Circumventing the Platform to conduct transactions (including payments for tutoring services) outside of TutorLink.
• Scraping, crawling, or using automated tools to extract data from the Platform without authorization.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• TutorLink is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties or representations regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of the Platform.
• TutorLink acts as an intermediary connecting students with independent tutors. We do not guarantee the quality, qualifications, or outcomes of tutoring sessions.
• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, academic performance, or business opportunities.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Platform shall not exceed the amount paid by you to TutorLink in the 12 months preceding the claim.

• These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
• Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the use of the Platform shall first be attempted to be resolved through amicable negotiation.
• If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably within 30 days, it shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
